AMERICANAFEST 2019
Ona
West Virginia indie rockers, Ona, are the newest addition to our 2019 AmericanaFest Video Sessions. Filmed at our Soundcheck Office in Nashville, this session features three tracks off their new record, Full Moon, Heavy Light.
In the session, Bradley Jenkins (vocals/guitar) is using our Anthem and running through the Venue DI, with Zack Owens (guitar) using the M1 Active and also running through the Venue DI. Along with Brad Goodall (keys), Zach Johnston (bass), and Max Nolte (drums), the band performs “Golden Highway Deserter”, “Ribbon at the Line”, and “Allison in the Grass”.
“Ona could be the next great rock band,” writes Noisey (Vice). “The West Virginia band's adventurous and infectious new album takes them to the next level.”
Full Moon, Heavy Light was released in May 2019, in partnership with Tyler Childers’ Hickman Holler Records and Thirty Tigers. Produced by Drew Vandenberg (Of Montreal, Deerhunter, Futurebirds), the album was recorded at Chase Park Transduction in Athens, GA and includes nine new songs co-written by the five band members.
“In the production, I wanted people to recognize emotion,” Jenkins says. “There’s a lot of ear candy that we snuck in there, but it might be an album that you need to sit with. We want our audience to experience and feel the music. There are ups and downs, and sometimes people might ignore those feelings, but we want people to recognize every emotion.”
